The Podcasting Renaissance

Podcasts have been in existence for more than 40 years, but have finally come of age in the twenty tens.

As streaming media becomes the norm, it's not surprising that we're seeing this resurgence.

The lack of visual distraction might be one of the key reasons why podcasts have finally found their groove. As a format, the podcast puts the focus back on the old-fashioned notion of creating straight-forward, interesting, engaging content.

The lack of visual distraction might be one of the key reasons why podcasts have finally found their groove. As a format, the podcast puts the focus back on the old-fashioned notion of creating straight-forward, interesting, engaging content.

Why Are Podcasts So Popular ?

Obviously, the increasing availability of on-demand streaming has helped podcasting reach critical mass. Podcasting is an ideal accompaniment to activities which don’t require connected visuals and eyeballs – housework, exercise, commuting etc.

More importantly, podcasting champions good content above all else. The best podcasters understand how to create interesting ideas, stories of perspectives.
They are facilitators for a global audience to eavesdrop on interesting conversations, or just feel connected to like-minded people.

Should I Make My Own Podcast ?

If you’re a media producer on the make or a brand-savvy marketer and you’ve got something to say, podcasting is a great way of doing it. Of the many media options, podcasting is probably the easiest to professionally produce and hence the most cost effective.
But, when it comes to good content, cost should never be the only consideration.

Content is King

If you’ve arrived here via Google, you’ve doubtless found numerous articles describing how you can DIY your own podcast. And, all of that is true.
It’s true for you and for every other would-be podcaster out there. As well as creating a potential wider audience for your podcast, the resurgent podcast industry is also creating lots and lots of competition.

The best way to be competitive is to create content which differentiates itself. If content is King, there’s no point chasing the prince. It’s best to work people who are experts at producing creative, engaging content.
Snap. That’s what we do.
