Step 2 — Gather your supporting documents

Photo identification

To confirm who you are

  • Passport from your country of citizenship
  • Irish, EU or UK driving licence or learner permit
  • Irish Certificate of Naturalisation
  • National identity card (EU / EEA / Swiss citizens)

Proof of address

To confirm where you live

  • Bank statement from a recognised bankNot accepted from private money lenders or Revolut
  • Building society statement
  • Credit union statement
  • Credit union passbook
  • Utility billGas, electricity, television, broadband, waste or TV licence only
  • Correspondence from a government department
  • Letter from your local council confirming tenancy

Applicants under 18

If you're under 18 and can't provide documents from the lists above, please send both of the following instead:

  • Birth certificate
  • Written statement from a school principal or accredited third-level institution confirming your attendance and address
